How to Improve the Efficiency of Magnetic Separator?

As an important member of ore dressing equipment, magnetic separator plays an indispensable role in the magnetic separation production line. So, the effect of magnetic separator arouses attention among equipment manufacturers and users. Xinhai mineral processing expert has come out with recommendations for how to improve the efficiency of magnetic separators.
One. Add material-leveling device
As we all know, magnetic separators mainly rely on the magnetic force of the equipment to complete the magnetic separation process. So, the more distance from the magnet drum surface, the weaker magnetic force is. Therefore, the too thick material flow will cause the magnetic particles to mix up with non-magnetic particles, then affect the separation effect.
Xinhai mineral processing expert suggests, add material-leveling device before dry separation, use the effective width of the belt as far as possible, make the material layer thin and even, which can guarantee the dry separation effect.
Two. Adjust the height of the splitting plate
The height of the splitting plate will also affect the separation effect of the magnetic separator. When the splitting plate is too low, the extremely lean magnetite ore cannot be recovered well, thus reducing the utilization rate of mineral resources. When the splitting plate is too high, the gangue mineral cannot be thrown out completely, thus affecting the separation effect. Accordingly, please adjust the height of the splitting plate to assure the effect of magnetic separation. And the specific height should be decided according to case requirements.
Three. Adjust the distance between splitting plate and magnetic drum
The distance between the splitting plate and magnetic drum also affects the efficiency of magnetic separation. The experiment proved that,the smaller distance between the splitting plate and magnetic drum, the lower recovery rate of lean magnetite ore get, which greatly reduces the utilization rate of mineral resources. And when the distance is too larger, the magnetic separation efficiency is not good. That’s because, when the distance between the feed plate and the magnetic drum is large, the gangue mineral cannot be separated well, so the grinding grade is decreased, which is not conducive to the performance of grinding. According to the ore property and the distance between the splitting plate and magnetic drum, the gangue can be fully thrown out, and the magnetic products can be fully recovered, then the recovery rate of dry concentrate is guaranteed.
