How Does Wet Magnetic Separator Achieve Tailings Discarding?
Xinhai wet magnetic separator is mainly used for wet magnetic separation process, and it is suitable for dealing with magnetite, pyrite, calcined ore, ilmenite and other materials whose (particle size is less than 3mm). besides, it is also used in the iron removal of coal, non-metals and building materials. The magnetic system of the magnetic separator is made of high-quality ferrite material and thulium magnet. The average magnetic flux density of the drum is about 100 ~ 600mT. This wet magnetic separator adopted a kind of newly developed Nd-Fe-B magnetic material with high permeability and magnetic energy as the magnetic source. In addition, the magnetic separator design was based on the magnetic induction of ores and actual operation analysis. so, it is widely used in the iron removal of various kinds of mines, such as manganese ore, limonite, hematite, goethite, siderite, cerium chromite, niobium, tantalum, titanium iron ore, alabandite, wolframite, ilmenorutile, itabirite ore, apatite, xenotime, olivine, renierite, ankerite, bastnasite, biotite, epidote, eytlandite, serpentine and other non-metallic mines. After the wet magnetic separator process, the grade of ore can be generally improved 10%-30%.
The tailings discarding by magnetic separator is to crush the ore to 5mm or less than 3mm, and then use the high-intensity magnetic separator for tailings discarding. It played an important role in utilizing the extremely lean iron ore and improving the quality of iron concentrate.
For developing and utilizing the iron ore with less than 20% of grade, Xinhai adopted high-pressure roller mill to grind the ore below 3 mm, then used the strong wet magnetic separator to discard 40% coarse tailings. The iron grade of grinding material was up to 40%, then qualified iron concentrate was obtained after regrinding. Finally, the grade of iron concentrate was up to 65%, SiO2 content was reduced to 4%, and the grade of tailings was below 10%.
In addition, the mineral processing plant adopted hammer crusher - wet permanent magnetic separation technology. The particle size (-5mm) of the selected material accounted for 80%, and 30%~40% coarse tailings can be removed.
