Flotation process refers to the general term that the slurry flows through the various operations during ore flotation. In flotation operations, different flotation processes should be adopted for different types of ore. Therefore, the flotation process can reflect the technological characteristics of the ore. The ore dressing process should be improved in time according to the changes in ore properties and the adoption of new ore dressing process, so as to improve the technical and economic indicators. At present, the common flotation processes mainly include differential flotation process, bulk flotation process, partial bulk-differential flotation process, iso-flotation process, asynchronous flotation process, branch flotation process, ash flotation process and speed flotation process. 1. Differential flotation process Differential flotation process means to extract the ore that contains two or more useful minerals into single concentrate. The differential flotation process is ge...

Ball Mill VS Rod Mill
Ball mill and rod mill are used widely in plant and are compared by us. This text will analyze the two equipment in some aspect. The grinding theory. Though used different medium (steel ball and steel rod are contained in a ball mill and rod mill), the working theory of ball mill and rod mill are similar. When the shell moves, the medium in the shell is raised and down which has an impact on ore. Some medium may close to the tube wall of the shell which can grind the ore. After a long time grinding, the material is ground to the correct size. For details, the grinding theory of ball mill and rod are different in many ways. For the ball mill, the grinding force of steel ball to ore is less than the impact, because the contact area is small between balls and mineral. Thus, the throwing motion of ball can produce a large impact, but it needs a high rotate speed and has a higher power consumption. But for rod mill, the grinding effect is better which need a lower rotating speed and has a...
Copper and Molybdenum Flotation Process
Copper and molybdenum are accompanying minerals. Almost over 20 percent molybdenum is recovered from copper and molybdenum. Copper and molybdenum ore, which are mainly copper ore, is existed as porphyry copper with high recovery value and low grade of molybdenum (0.01~0.1%). Copper in copper and molybdenum is existed mainly as CuFeS2, Cu2S, while molybdenum is existed as MoS2. Copper and molybdenum include preferential flotation , part combined flotation and combined flotation. Preferential flotation contains two processes: one is concentrate molybdenum first, while another is concentrate copper first. There are some shortcomings of preferential flotation: copper and molybdenum is hard to reactivated, flotation process is complex, flotation index is worse, and process cost is high. Copper and molybdenum flotation process is commonly used for copper and molybdenum ore with pretty high grade, while it’s rarely adopted in industrial production. In part combined flotation process, molyb...
